This framed assemblage presents a speculative survey of objects used in the facilitation of public engagement.
Recovered items are presented as instruments of public interface, each assigned a formal role within a shared system. These objects were intended to guide and enable interaction between individuals and their surroundings. Direction was offered. Unity was implied. Comfort was secondary.
Interpreted through the visual language of museum display, the collection examines the mechanisms by which engagement was encouraged and participation formalised. Each object retains its original seriousness, regardless of effectiveness or outcome.
The piece records the processes. Results remain inconclusive.
